What's the best way to retrain your sleeping hours
I'm working 7 - 3 after working 3 - 11 for over 10 years. I've been in the habit of going to bed at about 3 am, and getting up by 10 or 11. Now I have to be up by 5:30am to be to work @ 7am. Any ideas for retraining sleeping habits would be appreciated.

3. Work out really hard the day before and then go to sleep early.
The key, at least for me, is to get really tired and then I'll sleep deeply.

6. I used to stay up between shifts when I had a problem. I was then tired
after the second one, and kind of fell into a routine. This wouldn't have worked in my younger days when I thought nothing of staying up 4 or 4 days in a row though.

7. I went from 11-7 to day shift once.
I took 2 over the counter sleep aids at about 9pm and slept until 5am the time I had to get up. It really worked well for me. That and the fact that my last 11-7 was a Thursday and my 1st day shift was a Monday.

It's the same ingredient in Tylenol PM without the Tylenol. I was able to sleep though the night.

8. It will be ok after a bit of time - just DON'T nap at the wrong time
ONLY go to sleep when it would be right for your new schedule. You may have a couple messed up "days" but as long as you go to bed when you are supposed to and stay awake when you are supposed to you will adjust pretty fast.

that 1 to 4 pm time is going to be when you need to find some simulation!

no caffiene 4 to 6 hours before sleep time
