Poll question: What's the worst household chore?
I just finished scrubbing the toilet with pumice. :puke: I think I've decided I hate that chore more than doing dishes and vacuuming, my previous canidates for the worst chore ever.

What chore do you like least?

9. Cleaning the toilet takes about 5 minutes every few weeks
Doing the dishes takes a huge chunk out of the day, every day.

4. Dishes by hand.
Pretty much did them at gunpoint (figuratively) when I was small.

Also any yard work. Same reason.

5. as an apartment dweller, I have to give it to laundry
mostly thanks to the communal laundry room, where only half the damn machines work at any given time (and you never know which ones will be working from day to day), and where I feel compelled to put extra bleach in with everything thanks to an ever-present fear that putting my clothes in the washers will actually make them dirtier than they were before.

14. eh - even if you have a self cleaning oven - it doesn't
clean the gross mess all over the top and front.

Same with those stupid toilet bowl products - its the rim and outside that is the most disgusting - ugh and back by the lid/seat hinges :puke:

38. Putting stuff away.
I have a lot of trouble getting stuff put away. Clutter? You have to understand, my mom had a relative that had a second house built on her property so she could start over on "stuff." I know I'm OCD. I get nervous whenever it looks like family members have tried to toss out some of my newspapers that I am saving so I can read an old article or finish a puzzle. Currently, I am somewhat in control, thanks to having some recent company and the holiday three-day weekends. Cleaning toilets--no problem. Washing dishes--no complaints here. Vacuuming--I do it regularly. But man, I hate putting my stuff away.

19. I hate dishes with a passion.
That was my main chore when I was a teen. Even though we had a dishwasher I was required to wash them by hand. So even though I'm living with my SO now in our own place, and I can use the dishwasher as often as I want ;), I still hate doing dishes.

20. I never minded toilet duty til I got a live-in male
I never understood the concept of a little low seat so far below where the liquid is coming from, with so much room for error.

My SO does vacuuming, kitchen, laundry and shares the grocery shopping. But the bathroom can get really really disgusting if I'm on the road for a few weeks.

The worst chore, for sure.

24. Believe me, girlfriend. I KNOW.
Actually, bet. the two of mine, AND my hubby and me, it's basically endless. Seriously, every week I do between 6-8 loads of laundry, sometimes more. Monday is usually Laundry Day and by the time I get everything completely washed, dried, folded and put away, it's Thurs. or Friday.

I. Hate. Doing. Laundry. :grr:

26. Recycling, all the way. Not an excuse not to do it--but while I will do
ANY other household chore the chores demand of me with resigned gusto, I procrastinate like nobody's business about the fucking recycling. Last night, it didn't get done until 3:30 (it has to be on the curb by 5:30). I hate it. It's horrible.

Maybe I'm a freak, but I love to do the laundry. It's the best of the chores. The machines do most of the work. Where's the problem?

Toilet cleaning? Now that's a different story.
