|
Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 08:58 PM by maveric
I stayed at the Holiday Inn, North Beach/Chinatown in San Francisco a while back and ordered an Omelet breakfast with coffee and a side of fruit. It ran me $62.00 after the 20% gratuity, that they tack on. $62.00 for breakfast!!!

10. Room service has always been like that. |
|
When I traveled on business a lot in the 1980s, I never used room service unless it was so late that the hotel restaurant was closed. Even though it was "the company's" money and not my personal bucks, and I was in a position where my expense reports were NEVER questioned, I just couldn't bring myself to pay the hotel seventeen bucks in the morning for an english muffin.

Oh, hey, I found a local position with your company. So, I have an active application on their online system. So, in case something pops up, I can apply at a moment's notice. :D

8. Hey, order me one of those $40, $12 bottles of gin! |
|
That's what it cost me at a Mauna Lani when I had 'em roomservice a fifth of Bombay to my room. They were quite nice, though, and included a little jar of olives and cup of vermouth at no extra charge. :-)

Although I have no idea what they gouge for the liquor. They do have a decent wine list, however!
One day I will try the Jack London Cabernet from Sonoma County, but not at Room Service prices.
