Edited on Tue Jan-17-06 09:27 PM by gunsaximbo
Democratic Illinois State Representative campaign in Illinois 50th district seeks highly-motivated, part-time interns for this exciting, targeted race. The interns will be given a great deal of responsibility and will work closely with the candidate, Field Director, and other staff and consultants. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the inner-workings of a political campaign.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
-assisting Field Director with general office duties
-conducting research for field plan
-maintaining databases and lists
-maintaining and updating assorted websites and blogs
-assisting with planning and managing events and fundraisers
-assisting with mass mailings, phone banks, and canvasses
-assisting with training and managing volunteers
-assisting with supporter recruitment
-assisting with drafting assorted documents

Qualifications:
-strong interest in politics
-knowledge of data base, spreadsheet and word processing software
-internet savvy
-responsible, mature, and professional manner

While not necessary, the following qualifications are desired:
-current student or recent grad
-connections to the 50th district
-previous campaign and political experience
-previous research experience
-car and valid drivers license
-willingness to travel within the 50th district

Preference will be given to those who can work part-time or full-time at the campaign office in Aurora. However, those able to telecommute (must have own computer with internet access) will also be considered.

Internships will start immediately and will be ongoing throughout the duration of the campaign. Applicants are welcome to apply at any time. Internships of all lengths will be considered.

Those interested in applying should submit cover letter, resume, and writing sample to info@serra06.com .

Thanks for your time,

1. Welcome to DU, and good luck in the quest.
I'm gonna be nice and not make any comments about proprietary software, either :)
