Brothers Shoot Mystery Animal in East Texas

Another strange dog-like creature has been found in the East Texas woods. The animal bares a striking resemblance to so-called Elmendorf Beast (aka Chupacabra).

Over the weekend, two brothers out hunting shot it and killed a mysterious animal with leathery skin, long teeth, and hind legs longer than its front legs.

Kolby Russell told KLTV in Tyler-Longview that this wasn’t his first run in with the creature. "I had chased it a couple times earlier, about a month ago, and my friends didn't believe me, I finally showed them and they did."

"I've seen mange before, and he has a body kind of built like a coyote -- but he's real skinny," says Kolby’s brother Coty told KLTV.

11. :shakes head:
ok, I get that these guys are morons, so it's like their code that they have to shoot anything that moves...

But...if they shot it, and it's so unusual...why are there no pictures?

Sounds like a bunch of crap to me. An underfed coyote gets shot, and they manufacture a 'news' story around it. :puke:

15. possible
I'm sure it's NOT a chupacabra :eyes:

If it really was anything unusual...there would be pictures.

As it is, I'm sure the reason there aren't is because most people would look at it and know it's a typical animal...sick, maybe (mange, malnutrition, whatever) but nothing supernatural.

34. thanks for posting that link
looks like a hairless deer to me

Not impossible that it's just a hairless...some sort of animal.

After all, I suppose if someone ran into this in the wild:

there would probably be lots of wild speculation.

(this is one of the chimpanzees at the St. Louis Zoo, she has alopecia universalis, which causes hair loss, but is otherwise healthy.

45. There's a reason ligers are HUGE and tigons are smaller
Among big cats, growth-inhibiting genes are inherited from only one parent. In lions, the genes come from the mother; in tigers, the gene comes from the father. So a liger, who has a tiger mother and a lion father, doesn't inherit *any* gene that codes for "stop growing now" and gets huge (I'm pretty sure they continue to grow throughout life). In contrast, a tigon inherits two sets of growth-inhibiting genes, and stops growing early. Tigons are often smaller than either parent; ligers can be twice the size of tigers.

Now you understand two things. One, why Texas voted for Bush, and two, why you should never, ever, stop in east Texas. To them, liberals are more rare than a Chupacabra!

Yeah, I know there are some great liberals and even DUers in east Texas (the great Ralph Yarborough was born in Chandler).
