I sent her that "recipe" and asked her to knit me an idol. I love the FSM. It's the goofiest damned thing I've ever heard of. Helps me to keep my fundy past in perspective, too. :7

7. Check out the hat link, too.
That hat is great. Honestly, though, I would rather make the squid hat that a knitter figured out. It's awesome!!!

I can't knit like that, though. :D

Following links around, I found this:

A billboard in my city (Baltimore) that I've never seen. I must go find it!

12. I think FSM is an offshoot of squidism...
Sort of like Protestants and Catholics. The FSMists objectected to Squid's sucking tentacles and sharp beak, prefering instead their spicy meatballs.

That's funny! Maybe it's more like Old Testament and New Testament?

14. Yes, exactly!
Squid is the Old Testament diety we are afraid of, FSM is the New Testament diety who loves us.

One eats us for dinner, the other feeds us.

19. This doesn't look that hard.
The one who made it is a regular at Knitty.com's messageboards, too, if you ran into any problems. That's the nicest place for good advice and help.

23. Thanks!
I used to crochet but haven't done it for a long time. Knitting was something I never quite caught but I've heard that it's actually easier than crochet.
I'll have to check out that site sometime.

29. There are good sites for learning knitting.
Videos and message boards are all around. I forget the links, but I'm sure they'd come up in a search. If that doesn't work, try a local yarn shop for classes or Michaels.

25. I do
I have a secret for the meatballs. You put the meat in a mixer and add about half a cup of ice water, a few drops at a time. Keeps them from being dense. Also helps to add another kind of meat like pork or chicken. I learned it from a Chinese friend.
