SATAN is coming to K-State

So, I get back from lunch, and do a few piddly work tasks. After I take my stuff out to place in our out box for our currier run, I come back to my desk to see my gorgeous husband has emailed me. I'm so excited I quickly open the email, only to be greeted with the following:

http://ome.ksu.edu/lectures/landon/new.html

followed by his kind words to "not let it ruin" my day. So humorous he is.

1. That really sucks.

I wouldn't go to that one.

BTW-who is on board for Fulton,MO this year? I haven't been to a good lecture at Westminster in a long time and wondered if they have had anyone decent recently. Heard anything yet?

I know it says that you live in KS but I also know that the lecture series in Fulton is well-known in numerous states. Actually, everyone knows of at least one famous lecture at Fulton-they just don't realize it.

4. I don't know about Fulton.
If there's a lecture there that I know of, I'm one who doesn't realize it. :dunce:

5. I'm looking it up right now to see if they've added to the bill.
Most famous lecture/speech of all from the Fulton series? Winston Churchill's "Iron Curtain" speech, made in 1946.
I've caught a few there, including Gorbachev and Walensa. Best part-they are free, open to the public and no ticket needed. Just come as you are, bring a picnic lunch and a lawn chair and you're set.

7. Hey, if you see anyone great coming
let me know. It's about time I expand my knowledge and do something other than work and sleep and bitch about the country under * in my spare time.

9. Rededication of the Westminster Memorial in March.

You'd love it. I've been there a few times.
And they have a piece of the Berlin Wall there. I went for the dedication of it back in the early 90's (Gorbachev's speech was the dedication).
And the church there is stunning. I'd love to get married in it someday but I've heard there's quite the waiting list.

Most famous lecture quote from Westminster?
1946
"From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic an iron curtain has descended across the Continent."

Winston Churchill

3. He's certainly not welcome here!
I wish I could go. Chris (my husband) said it reminded him of his last semester American Presidency class when the prof said Nixon came to K-State when he was floundering. He said something to the effect of If I can't go to KSU and not get booed, there's no where I can go and not get booed.
Same thing goes for Bushie-Boy. I would give anything to be there to boo him, but alas I have to work, and I have a weak stomach!

12. Or photos of * in his cheerleading outfit
with pretzels taped to the bag. You know, to get some solid food back in our stomachs after he causes us to empty them!

10. Many many *MANY* of his minions do.
But this has to be the worst news we've gotten in a long time!

11. There is a town in KS that is supposedly one of the
seven gateways of hell.
Sometimes I wonder if that explains quite a bit about KS.

13. um, we already had
Dick Cheney here.

I'd like to get a ticket and then not show up. Wouldn't 200 empty seats be worse than booing? Or would they quickly sell empty seats to supporters who would otherwise be out in the cold?

14. I personally think that MO and KS DU'ers should get
together for the Churchill rededication at Fulton instead of worrying about this crap.
We both know he's only going to KState because he's worried about how he's looking in the Heartland.

19. I'm not sure
If there is, I'm going to do my best to get to that since I can't make the "speech." I'll let you know if I hear of one; I wouldn't be suprised.
And if you can't make it, can I use your sign?

20. Possibly for the Manhatten one.
I remember * stopped in Warrensburg during the campaign in 2004. He ate lunch at a plant. Security was so tight. I remember hearing about an employee at a nearby plant who was told by his supervisor to go up on the roof of their factory (something was wrong w/ a vent). Secret Service was in place on the roof there and they knew that this employee had to get up there for repairs. Employee got on the roof and was told to go back down. The plant had to shut down for two hours while * enjoyed his lunch of bbq beef.
If security was that tight then I would think it would be impossible to get anywhere near the event to protest.

22. I went to a protest in KCMO
they cleared the streets and barricaded the entrance, but they did have a free speech zone, which sadly did not fill up. We had way more people at the Lawrence anti-war march.

15. That would be great
but any empty seats would quickly be filled. They're not letting anyone take in bags of any sort. Even purses won't be allowed from the sound of it. So, no sneaking in water balloons like I thought of!

16. If you are small busted
you can partially fill some water balloons w/ stage blood, get a push-up bra w/ padding, take out the padding and use the balloons as padding instead.
Not that I condone this act but it would be easy to do.

21. Think about it-it would work.
Fill 'em so that they are flatter.
And the red would stand out so much more than simple water. It could be a symbol of lives lost during his watch.

Not that I agree w/ those actions or anything.
