i used to like that feeling when i lived in chicago and by some means would end up with an assload of cash: hit my dive bar circuit at noon on a tuesday or something and load up the jukebox with jackie wilson, wilson pickett, the temps, four tops, waylon, freddy fender, or DAC.

that was when drinking didn't hurt as much and i could romanticize it: see the static-y motes swirling in the beams of sunlight streaking into the smelly, dank, wooden 1920s barspace. hang out with career alcoholics, drug dealers, hookers, and assorted low lifes while all the citizens were at work and kids were at school. grizzled faces, raspy voices, every other word, "fuck," "cocksucker," "asshole," "this fucking guy."

ah, such fond memories of a well-wasted youth.

The parts to fix the sliding door just arrived. Now it latches right, and just in time, since it's STILL getting colder and windier.

But I'll be drinking one of them soon; you can imagine what this cold, wet weather does to my shoulder. Have also been working since 6 AM.
