What part of speech is "meh"?

I tend to use it as an adjective, but I have a friend who insists it's an interjection.

What do you use "meh" as?

But I can see it being used in adjective form, as in, "God, I'm feeling so...meh."

Interjection: "Whaddya think about dinner from Rubio's tonight?" "Meh."
