but then I'm always curious what was said when I see the "ignored" posts. So then I end up taking them off again.

Now I just laugh at posters I might have otherwise put on ignore, and take secret delight when their posts get deleted.

A month ago I checked and three of the ignorees had been tombstoned. Now the list is much shorter-- and interestingly, I find that when I see "ignored" it is often followed by an indignant post. :) Why subject myself to personal attacks? :shrug:

I run a little sensitive so hey, I'm not ashamed that I have used the ignore feature on a few people. I only use the feature if someone personally attacks me or if I notice a pattern of generally offensive behavior. I ignore those people in real life as much as possible, why not on the Internets?

26. One of the people on my ignore list admitted he had, like, 250

people on ignore. At the time many of DU's features were down because of high traffic. I just laughed and realized I hadn't missed anything by putting this person on ignore because I am, no doubt, on this person's ignore list, too, along with a good chunk of other DUers. :rofl: His version of DU must look like a "declassified" government document, with inking out of all the good stuff. :D :D :D :D :D

I used the "ignore" button for the first time ever, within the last week.

I personally don't have a bone of contention with anyone, but watching people sniping at each other in a public forum - even if they think they are being very clever about it and not TECHNICALLY violating DU civility rules - becomes quite annoying.
