11. A couple of things
The Dark Valley by Piers Brendan - it's an overview of the 1930's worldwide and how events coalesced into WWII. Very interesting.

Lincoln's Melancholy by Joshua Wolf Shenk - about how clinical depression shaped Lincoln and his life. Also very good.

Trouble In Mind by Leon F. Litwack - about the lives of southern blacks during the Jim Crow years. Heartbreaking and grim but very, very good.

And for light reading, The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.

I tend to read multiple books at a time.
