Poll question: C.G. Computer poll. How do you back up? |
|
I did this poll some time ago but I just want to see what the results are now. The Separate Partition/Disk could be a CD/DVD or Hard Drive.

9. yeah, I heard about those... |
|
They sounded too hard to figure out...I mean, they are "hard" drives, right? It does suck to have to use like 150 square feet of storage space to save a single Word document, though. And let me tell you, loading a Powerpoint presentation is a real bitch. :(

in reality it's whenever I remember to do it. If I'm working on an important project, I may just back up that project.

17. I back up my data to DVD, and my bootable drive I create a Ghost image |

of.
I don't care if I have to re-install some software, I can get 90% of my functionality back almost immediately.

23. Well, when you use Mac OS9, it's easy. Unlike System X. |
|
All I have to do is grab folder icons and drop 'em onto the hard drives. Cant' do that with X; you need backup software.
So it's a piece of cake. Once while I'm eating lunch, and once at the end of the day.
And archiving? I use ONLY Mistui Gold Cds, burn them at 1X speed, and make two copies of each CD. One copy goes into the bank safety-deposit box.
No way in hell I'm ever going to lose more than a half-day's work, or have to re-create a project because the archive CD delaminated.
