What thats all about I have no idea.

Stipe is the biggest dick I have ever paid to see, he condescends to his audience, whats that, Hey Michael, if I am stupid, and I am your fan, what does that make you, "heroe of the stupid?"

11. I am reknowned at home for my dislike of her.
I can.not.stand. Sandra Lee. ugh. She had one episode where she was serving her (extended) family, and she was so disgustingly fakey-pukey. Her nephews' postures around her suggested that they were probably used to dodging cooking utensils that flew from her bony little hands.

14. She's terrible.
To be fair, I've only seen bits and pieces of her terrible show. However, she really annoyed me when she carefully explained that one can stir gravy with a whisk or with a spoon. Seriously. She wasn't mentioning that she was going to get a spoon; she explained it as if it would never occur to viewers not to stir gravy (or soup or something) with their fingers.

:eyes:

Nothing she makes looks tasty, either. It sometimes looks okay visually, but not like something I'd want to actually eat.

Edited on Thu Jan-19-06 10:31 PM by philosophie_en_rose
Without seeing it, I predict her tater tot recipe is:

1 bag of frozen tater tots.
1 bag of shredded cheese.
1 box of precooked bacon.

Put tots, cheese, bacon, and maybe eggs in dish. Cook (preferably in microwave for extra class).

Turn a bowl upside down and put a plate on it to make a platter. Serve. Enjoy.

Voila. Elle est une chef qui suce beaucoup!

25. Close.
Frozen tots - bake according to package directions. Remove the tots from the oven and put into a casserole dish, mix in crumbled bacon - leftover from breakfast (I take it she cooked the bacon herself) - and top with pre-shredded cheese. Pop back into the oven until heated through and cheese is all melty.

I mean, seriously guys. It is possible to put raw bacon back in the fridge.

So you either cook just enough for everyone, or you cook the whole package and go on a bacon binge.

33. We've had leftover bacon. It happens sometimes.
If you knew you would be making a recipe later that used cooked, crumbled bacon, you might deliberately make extra bacon for that purpose (rather than having to cook bacon twice).

68. In which case I don't call it "leftover"
If you plan to have spaghetti tonight, cook spaghetti sauce and don't eat all of it, you've got leftovers.

If you plan to have spaghetti tonight and tomorrow night, you've got tomorrow night's dinner.

Same deal with cooking enough bacon to use in two recipes.

41. Oh my LORD she's horrible.
Let's make pumpkin-cheesecake petit fours! OK, so what you need to do is first bake the crust -- take sugar-cookie mix, cream cheese and a few other ingredients, mush them together, put them in muffin cups, and bake! What could be simpler?

OK, now let's make the filling. Take this $15 cheesecake you bought at the store -- scoop the filling out. You can crumble the crust over ice cream! Now take this $8 pumpkin pie and do the same thing! OK, now whip each pie filling separately with some cream so they're light and fluffy.

Take THREE ziplock bags. Fill one with pumpkin. One with cheesecake. And one with a little bit of both -- see, it makes a swirl! -- and pipe them into the petit fours shells. Top with whipped cream and an espresso bean.

Won't this look pretty on your tablescape? Your guests will never know you weren't slaving over a hot stove for hours to make this from scratch! :argh:

Why she doesn't buy pre-made tartlet shells, a can of pumpkin-pie filling and a box of no-bake cheesecake mix and do it that way is beyond me. It's like she HAS to choose something that's ready-to-go at the store, even if doing it even slightly more homemade would be faster and cheaper.

44. Did you see what Bobby Flay had to say about her?
There was some show where a bunch of celebrity chefs were working together and Bobby Flay got stuck with this moron. They would do this interviews with each chef where they would ask about the other. Most of the chefs would say something like "I'm so excited to be working with X because he/she is so good at ." What's Bobby Flay going to say? "Yeah, I just love that cool-whip white-chocolate pile of crap she just threw in a bowl!" So what he said was "Working with Sandra is great because you always know you're gonna get some lifestyle tips." LOL! I thought it was about the best forced compliment he could've given, but it was so obvious he was reaching.

I give annoying people the benefit of a doubt, sometimes they know not what they do. Emeril is so schticky, and he obviously thinks his stupid tired old schtick is so cool, but I tend to think thats because he is kinda dumb.

Flay, on the other hand, is obviously an asshole.

Kidney anything is enough to send me screaming!

I will say though that I tried their baked salmon filets in ten tons of butter recipe and it was actually very good (rich as hell but good)

62. Emeril story, not too nice.
This story is in a cookbook written by Pat Conroy, who wrote the Prince of Tides and a bunch of good books.

At the time when he signed the deal to sell the movie rights to Prince of Tides (this is long ago when Emeril was completely unknown) he, his agent, and family went out to celebrate, and went to a local restaurant that had garnered a great reputation.

At the end of the meal, he realized that the place didn't take checks or credit cards (apparently emeril didn't like paying taxes). So there he was, very embarassed, with Emeril now come out of the kitchen and demanding immediate payment. Conroy offers a check and to return immediately with cash. No. Conroy offers to give emeril his wife's $10,000 diamond necklace. No.

One of them has to get a cab (this was also long before there were ATMs everywhere) and go get cash, I forget how, but it was an ordeal).

Sounds like a dick to me.

70. The only "laudatory thing" I've ever read about her is that she's cute
As Dudley Moore told Daryl Hannah, cuteness is very important.

Rachael Ray is very cute. She can't fucking cook, her knives are duller than Matcom's wit, the giggle's got to go, and the next time she uses "EVOO, that's Extra Virgin Olive Oil" in a sentence I think someone on the crew is gonna throw a hammer at her.

But she is cute, and for some people that's what's important--who in fuck is gonna eat the shit they cook on one of these shows anyway? It's like the "Makin' Bacon with Macon" skit Parker and Stone did on the old South Park DVDs...they'd make some recipe that contained seventeen pounds of bacon and nothing else.

49. Other . . David Rosengarten.
The most pompous person I have ever seen, except for Wolf Blizter.

103. Rosengarten's recipes also suck
I had one of his cookbooks and anything I made via his recipes was horrendous--

I don't know who the hell tests those recipes out but they are NOT GOOD.

yuck, I can't stand him, but some of his recipes are good.

I can't believe anyone would pick Alton Brown, he's my secret chef crush

Rachel Ray really doesn't bother me and my husband sure thinks she's cute.

73. C'mon, any woman who
can turn the word "pie" into a six syllable word should get some respect. Her show is pure food porn. I never make any of her recipes....but just listening to her drawl "butter...cream....sour cream...sugar (no lowfat/South Beach/glycemic nonsense for Paula)in her low-country syrupy purr is well, kinda food erotic.
(I guess you can tell I'm on my January diet)

86. Be honest. More people cook
like Rachel than like the gourmet chefs. Face reality. I want my son and daughter to cook. Rachel isn't intimidating. She's straight-forward and easy to follow. And her menus are done within 30 minutes.
The elaborate cooking is great when you have the time. And money. But Rachel's recipes and methods are more practical. With fewer and fewer people cooking, we need Rachel. We'd all be better off - calorie-wise and wallet-wise - if we followed her lead.
And I like her personality.

I bought my sis two of Rachel's books for XMas and she has made several great dishes. They were affordable and cheap (price-wise)!

Plus, she's easy on the eyes! :hi:

96. I would have to go with Rachel Ray.
Her cutsey terms like EVOO, sammy, insanely good and others drive me nuts. And her silly giggling at her own lame jokes. Ay! I just want to slap her!

I did not even consider Sandra Lee because she is not a chef or a cook. What a train wreck.

Give me PBS cooks over Food Network anytime. I want to learn. I don't need to be entertained by self centered cooks who think they are just soooo good. :eyes:
