2. Hustle & Flow
'cause I just got it from Netflix today and then we can talk about it (and how hot Terrence Howard is!).

I have seen recently, and would recommend:

Cinderella Man (conventional but good)

Crash (MUST SEE)

Vera Drake (*****)

5. If you haven't seen Crash, see it right now. Or, of the new crop, Capote.
Or Brokeback Mountain.

I just saw Finding Neverland and really, really liked it, also.

6. Why We Fight is opening up
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436971/

He may have been the ultimate icon of 1950s conformity and postwar complacency, but Dwight D. Eisenhower was an iconoclast, visionary, and the Cassandra of the New World Order. Upon departing his presidency, Eisenhower issued a stern, cogent warning about the burgeoning "military industrial complex," foretelling with ominous clarity the state of the world in 2004 with its incestuous entanglement of political, corporate, and Defense Department interests.

7. I'm on a mission to get "Mysterious Skin" better known,
as it's probably my best film of last year, so that's my #1 recommendation.

Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/mysterious_skin.html
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0370986/

If you're up for a laugh, "A Dirty Shame" (but beware the R-rated version), "The 40-Year Old Virgin" and "Kung-Fu Hustle" are great. Action wise, "Ong Bak" is brilliant and has launched the "new Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan/..." Tony Jaa. Finally, Matthew Bright's (Freeway I & II) most recent, "Tiptoes", is a really good character led film about family and prejudice and Todd Solandz's last film "Palindromes" is really quite interesting (although it is a little pretentious).

10. What are you in the mood for?
And what are your options?

If you want thought-provoking, see Capote, but I'd advise seeing it with someone, the better to discuss it afterwards.

I really was impressed with Nine Lives and also with Good Night, and Good Luck, but I doubt the former is playing in theaters at this point, and you've probably seen the latter.
