I'm Free!!! We finished with Jury Duty!!
I don't have to worry about being summoned again for another two years!

We stayed late tonight to reach a verdict. We deliberated for almost 9 hours.

I'm so glad it's over.

:D :woohoo: :D :woohoo: :D :woohoo:

4. Personal injury case
He is someone who, as it turns out lives about 1/2 mile from me.

He's got a complicated medical history and the question was to what degree did a collision in 2001 with a local electrician's truck exacerbated his problems.

It was quite draining.

7. It was sad for both parties
Yeah, we finally settled on an amount I think that the plaintiff can be happy with and that won't bankrupt the electrician's company. It was just an unfortunate accident. Nobody was intentionally trying to get a way with anything.

2. So, did you give the bastard the chair?
Assuming this was a capital murder case, obviously.

No death penalty here.

Though, when we started out in the jury pool last Tuesday, (1/10) They were picking Grand Jury, Criminal Court Jury, and Civil Court Jury.

edit: So it was virtually guaranteed we were going to get picked for something.
