Our wedding clothes arrived today!
For me, a suit of royal blue "peachskin" (that's the fabric): a very simple, long-sleeved top, with a v-neck and a little embroidery, and pants of the same color

For Mrs. V., a stunning black tunic, beaded in black, with purple and blue sequins, with which she will wear a flowing black skirt.

Now all we need are shoes and undermentionables. I asked a dear friend, who gave me invaluable advice about where to find good wedding clothes, if I should buy a girdle. After she stopped laughing she said, "shaper. They're "shapers" now." I wear jeans and t-shirts! Who knew?

Can't wait! Shelby & Tom's wedding is on Feb. 18 -- IN CALIFORNIA!

:bounce:

BTW - I haven't unwrapped my suit yet -- what is "peachskin"?

1. I have no idea what peachskin is, but in my mind's eye...
I pictured a brushed silk texture.

In my opinion, a girdle is still a girdle no matter what you call it. ;)

I have NO idea what "peachskin" is!

*sigh* When do you plan to be back? Meeting you is high on my list of priorities!

3. July 29 - August 4
Maybe longer if Mrs. V. can get two weeks off. I plan to take in several Angels' games - that is the purpose of the trip. So we will have the opportunity in just a few months!

7. DIG IT!
I was actually thinking of finding out if a collection of DUers would like to take in a game. I'm sure we could get our name up in lights. Wouldn't THAT be fun, in the center of Orange County?

10. At least you didn't say "pardon my French."
My manager at work is French-Canadian and has quite a pronounced accent. If she utters the mildest profanity, she says "pardon my French" and I miss a beat every time. It cracks me up coming from her.

I can't wait too, Peggy dear. ;)

8. Angels' schedule
Three with Oakland July 31-Aug. 2 (the last one's a day game; 12:35 p.m.) then four with Texas (day games Saturday and Sunday). Then they go on the road.

But you prolly already checked, huh?

That's why I chose that week -- A's and Rangers. :hi:

13. I woulda picked Seattle
so I could saunter down to the visitors' bullpen and say hello to Jeff Nelson. Haven't seen him since the last day of the 1987 season, when I shot he and Collette's wedding.

5. Peachskin, from what I've noticed,
is usually a soft brushed material(like the way a peach feels).
And you should buy a shaper/girdle. They can make all the difference in the way a outfit fits and looks on you. Go for one in a fleshtone-it's your best bet. Make sure you handwash it and it will last you for years to come.

12. I will, I will, I will.
Thank you for the advice. I was going to buy a black one but can see how fleshtone would be best.

Thanks! :hi:

14. You're welcome.
Fleshtone is the best since you will be able to wear it w/ anything. And it will make your figure look fabulous-perfect Coke bottle, if done properly.
An additional word of advice-go to a fitter. Don't pick it up off the rack somewhere. They will make sure that it fits perfectly in all the right places on you.

16. Damn - I thought you meant YOUR wedding.
Some friends of mine went to Toronto last year and made their 25+year relationship official. Then they posted their photo in the local paper (deep in the red-part of WI).
