Just wondering

3. If you RUN the wrong way around a track you get a wicked buzz. |
|
Maybe the same thing happens when you do it in a car.

8. Along that line, when i was young and would spin |

you would have to spin the other way to "unwind". Do they have to do the same after going around the track a couple of hundred times?

He went right instead of left on the last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500. And the rest of 2001 was one long tribute to Ol' Iron Head.
Okay, that was mean.
There are two tracks where you go right as well as left--Sears Point, California, and Watkins Glen, New York. I think those two races are the most fun.
I'm surprised and shocked, though, that NASCAR hasn't said or done something about the pit road situation at Watkins Glen. At every track NASCAR races on except this one, the car is fueled from the left side. At Watkins Glen, the car is fueled from the right side, which means every team has to own two cars that it can only use at this one track. (It's two cars because you need a backup in case you wreck the race car during practice.) The fix is to run the race "backwards"--drive the cars the other direction on the track.
