Back From Jury Duty - Didn't Get Picked (and MAY Have Landed A New JOB!!)
:bounce:

5 hours in a stuffy cramped room but didn't get picked

got a call on my cell on the way home from an old friend looking for some Internet Marketing answers for the company she works for. asked if i wanted to do lunch. we had lunch then went back to her office to take a look at what was being pitched to them (only as a favor)

owner came in and she introduced me and told him i was kind enough to be helping her out. HE started asking me questions and before I knew it (2 hours later) we were shaking hands at the door and he told me I would have an offer this weekend

:bounce:

DAMN!

:hi:

5. I'm sorry you didn't get to sentence anyone with a leaf blower
to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

But hey, - good deal on the job offer!

10. I can see it now,
"Your Honour, the jury foreman is seeking to know whether the defendant would or ever has boiled ribs before rendering a verdict."

****************************************

My jury duty story: Got called up a couple of years ago. The case was a malpractice case against an orthopedic surgeon. I told the clerk at the beginning of the day I was a doctor and there was no way they were picking me for that jury. Well, regardless, I had to wait my turn. I was number 45. Yes, I sat there until 4:30 pm.

Defense lawyer to Ramsey: So what kind of doctor are you? Oh, radiation oncologist. Ok, if we show the jury an X-Ray film and it shows something that we neglect to mention but that you notice, could you ignore that?

Ramsey to DL: Hell no!

DL to Ramsey: Thank you for your time. Next!

I do not lie, he actually asked me if I could ignore findings in the evidence that they were going to "neglect" to mention.
Makes you wonder about the cases, n'est-ce pas?

18. unbelievable!
well, no REALLY 'unbelievable' because lawyers are idiots most of the time (Mrs Matcom was asked today by her bank lawyer why she couldn't take a guy to small claims court. He defaulted on $6k loan and the maximum in MA for small claims is $2k)
