Just came back from my 3rd grader's school assembly... Precious!!
her class was presenting the school with the special topic Dreaming Big, using "MOTIVATION and INITIATIVE". It had cute little skits, where the Announcers (my daughter was one) asked the kids what their particular dreams in life were and how they were going to accomplish them. They wrapped up the assembly standing up and singing along with a very sweet acoustic guitar song called "Dream Big", by a group called the Rubberband Band. They each held up over their heads these big puffy paper clouds that they had each created and colored on whatever their individual Big Dream was....

It was totally precious and really touched my heart. There's something about seeing little kids singing together (even if it's completely off-key) that gets me, every time. I'm a sucker for that kind of thing.

These children are our FUTURE and they give me Hope. They should give us ALL Hope. Blessed be the children. O8)

Here she is, with her own Big Dream cloud. She wants to be an Artist.

My Big Dreamer

She looks mature for her age (in a good way). You have a keeper there!

3. Beautiful child.
The first picture is great. Really determined look. And I'm just astonished by the painting she made, especially the 'Someone'-part. Reminds me of one of my nieces; In some cases, we really have to earn the hope. ;) And that's a compliment.

11. Thanks, friend.
I let her read this thread a little bit ago and you should've seen the way her eyes lit up when she heard all the compliments.

She's not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the INside. I'm pretty lucky.

13. heheh. Yeah, ever since she was a baby, I've had people, strangers
literally stop me on the street to tell me how beautiful they think she is. She's gonna have to get used to dealing with that kind of energy as she ages. Our society so easily honors outside appearances.

It's a trip watching her turn into such a Beauty. But like I said upthread, she's not only beautiful outside, but also on the INside...which is truly what matters more, I think.

Part of my job as her mother is to make sure she loves, honors and appreciates herself beyond whatever natural beauty she has been blessed with this lifetime. Does that make sense?

In any case, thanks for your kind words. They made me laugh. :hi:

15. Hey YOU!! There you are! I'm so happy to "see" you.
I've missed running into you here at the lounge. Hope all's well on your end. :pals:

And thanks for your kind words. I felt inspired to share the Hope our children represent.

They are the Light, in the midst of dark times.

What do WE dare to dream big about????

12. Oh, Shine, she's beautiful!
Look at those dimples! :loveya:

I miss those days. I remember when my younger daughter graduated from kindergarten - the kids wore little cardboard mortorboards and sang the song, "Great Oaks From Little Acorns Grow" and I bawled my eyes out! Now she's getting married.

Or the time my son was in a school play and he had a short singing solo - so cute! I think he was in third grade at the time or second.

Or the day my oldest started school.....

Crap, I'm going to bawl just thinking about it but they're good tears. Being a mom is the best thing I ever did.

17. Thanks, Sky. Yup, she's a cutie, alright.
I like to say, "It helps when they're cute!" heheh.

Yes, the years pass all too quickly don't they, my friend. It must be sooo weird to know your "little girl" is getting married. I can hardly imagine it.

All we can do is just Be in the Moment and enjoy and be Grateful for each day we've got with them.
 :loveya:

"good tears", indeed.....

24. Yeah, she was pretty proud of herself.
If I can raise a kid that's confident, self-assured and knows she's loved, no matter what, I'll consider my job well done.
