Right now Verizon is not my friend

I bought a computer today. Actually first computer I bought was an open box buy but got it home and had problems with it so I took it back and bought a new computer. I have to admit that everything with where I bought the computer from (Circuit City) went very smoothly with the transaction and I adored my sales rep (He's originally from Liberia and has this really awesome accent).

Anyhow, dumbass here (that's me) left my only copy of my Verizon DSL disk in the computer I returned. Now I've made two trips to circuit city and I'm just not feeling a third trip tonight. But I can't get my new computer setup until I install my DSL. So I'm thinking I'll just log-in with my old computer and download the software from Verizon and install it that way.

I cannot find any DSL software for verizon anywhere except for the upgraded Verizon Yahoo DSL software which I don't want to pay extra for

I signed up for their $14.95/month DSL service on January 5th. So far, the installation on my phone line has been delayed twice. It was originally supposed to be "ready" by Jan. 13th, my current "should be ready" date is 2/1. Arrrgh- at least I'm not being charged until it's installed.

They sent me a box with the cable modem, CD, and filters. Everything is being held safe and secure in the box, unopened, until the service is "ready to be installed".

6. Just a word of warning .....

If you have to go to the Verizon website to D/L software (or whatever), use MSIE. Their website doesn't work well at all with Netscape or Mozilla. I found that out from personal experience. Some pages won't even load up. All you get is a blank page.
