I never paid for any internet service but AOL until I moved here and got my phone and DSL in a package from SBC. Now I don't use AOL anymore except for e-mail.

Note that this doesn't constitute a defense of AOL. It has no defense.

do its' thing - takes 1 1/2 of Idle Time??? Said it was safe to continue working so here I am. I hate, hate, hate AOL AND YAHOO and will be boycotting them every way I can... Will be looking into Earthlink and Juno -- anyone care to share their experiences with lesser known Internet providers?

10. We were with a local provider for a long time

on dialup. Local providers often provide far better customer service than the big ISPs. We now have cable internet, so we had a choice between AOL, Road Runner and Earthlink. We are with Earthlink and have not had any problems.
