Attitude Adjustment - Please Help
Got a call from the boss tonight. He's not happy with something and wants us to come into the office tomorrow morning (SUNDAY) at 9:00.

I make a nice salary - but fucking w/ my weekend really pisses me off. I'm bitter. Someone adjust my attitude.

1. Can you decline?
Is it something that can wait till Monday?

Alternately, can you take comp time next weekend to make up for it?

6. damn
Go along to get along, I guess. Suck it up and tough it out. After the crisis is all resolved, then I'd talk nicely but firmly to the boss and say you don't plan to interrupt your weekends anymore. He'll have to adjust his expectations.

5. Try This...
Picture yourself near a stream.
Birds are softly chirping in the crisp cool mountain air.
Nothing can bother you here.
No one knows this secret place.
You are in total seclusion from that place called "the world."
The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is clear.
You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you're holding under the water.
Look.
It's the person who caused you all this stress in the first place.
What a pleasant surprise.
You let them up, just for a quick breath.
Then...ploop!
Back under they go...
You allow yourself as many deep breaths as you want.
There now... feeling better?

Works for me. :D

http://www.bls.gov/ces/
Both the unemployment rate, 4.9 percent,
and the number of unemployed persons, 7.4 million,
were little changed in December.
The unemployment rate has ranged from 4.9 to 5.1 percent since March.

The unemployment ratesfor
adult men (4.3 percent),
adult women (4.5 percent),
whites (4.3 percent), and
Hispanics or Latinos (6.0 percent)
showed little or no change in December.
The jobless rates for teenagers (15.2 percent)
and blacks (9.3 percent)declined over the month;
the rate for black teenagers had an unusual
large decline and fell to 24.4 percent.
The unemployment rate for Asians was 3.8 percent,
not seasonally adjusted.

In December,
18.2 percent of the unemployed had been without a job for 27 weeks or longer,
compared with 20.4 percent a year earlier.

18. I'm just saying
Edited on Sat Jan-21-06 11:38 PM by Breeze54
that he should be grateful to have a good paying job!
He didn't say it was a UNION job!
He said, "THE OFFICE"!
THAT implies a SALARY!
When someone is on salary, they 'can be' asked to work
over and above the hours of the rest of the employee's!
There are a lot of people out of work in this country!
Maybe he should suggest a WEEK-END person(s)to fill in on his days off?!
It didn't sound like it was 'the usual SOP' of his boss.
So? One lousy Sunday?
Think of it as a step towards, maybe, an even better paying job!
But I still don't have any sympathy for ya!
Sorry!

15. Hello, Peter. What's happening?
Um, I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in tomorrow. So if you could be here around nine, that would be great.

Oh, oh, yeah…I forgot. I'm gonna also need you to come in Sunday too. We, uh, lost some people this week and we need to
sorta catch up. Thanks.

on your TPS reports.

If you could just go ahead and make sure you do that from now on, that would be great.
