I hereby nominate Heidi to be our candidate for.........
president of the United States of America in 2008. So what if she lives in another country. I am working right now (my lawyers are hard at work) to change the constitution. SeattleGirl shall be the vice-president. Any problem with that you DU heathens? The Bay City Rollers will play at the inaugural ball.

11. I can only support a coalition government:
a proud and stellar array of Dems, Greens, socialists, Libertarians and, yes, a token Republican.

Besides, I've already thrown my support behind primate1's 2008 presidential bid, and Call Me Wesley has designed his campaign banner! Let's put a Canadian in the White House, eh?

Maybe we can get school kids at all the whistlestops to chant it. They'd love that.

I should probably confer with CMW — get his ideas on it from a graphics standpoint.

53. Or maybe you follow this copy-editing dictum:
A puerile sense of humor can be a big asset in the word business. I call it the Beavis and Butthead factor. (Heh-heh — he said 'big asset'!)

This means you should know why
Court deals blow to homosexuals is a bad headline. You should know why the previous sentence was not the place to abbreviate headline. You should know why stiff and come were to be avoided in Clinton impeachment stories.

These things can be subtle. In trying to think of a headline for a reporter's first-person account of the wonders of his Palm hand-held computer ... my first idea was
A Man and His Palm: A Love Story.

Heh-heh.
