The moment that Nirvana became the band Dave Grohl used to be in...
instead of Foo Fighters being the band started by Nirvana refugee Grohl:

The "Best of You" video is now on AOL Music on Demand. If you're a customer of the evil empire (in this case, Time Warner Cable) you can see it easily. For all I know, other cable services may carry the service as well. If you have a fast connection, of course, you can get it online at music.aol. Naturally, anybody with a pulse is more au courant than I am and thus has been aware of this number for months. (Actually, even I've been aware of it; of all places, I saw the video on VH1. Needless to say, it was at 4 in the morning when there was no risk of hardly anyone seeing it.) If you haven't seen it/ heard it, it's a sustained burst of pure fury. So angry is the song that I assumed it was political, but having listened to the words more closely I'm now regarding it as almost entirely a pissed off love song. Still mighty and terrific, however.

8. Believe it or not, Smear is back with a reformed Germs.
They are making a movie about the Germs and some actor is playing Darby and singing for the Germs for real. I wish it wasn't true, but it is.

I was a little wary at first because I was something of a Nirvana fan, but I grew to love them.

6. Me too.
Not only do I love the music, they come across as nice guys, not rock-starry at all. The "Learn to Fly" video alone made me inclined to like them because they just seemed to be having so much fun doing it.

They're good live too, not flashy, just good solid performers.

7. Oh yes -- I saw them live last spring
and was awe-struck. So many bands of their type are horrible live, but not them.
