What should I do today? I hate football (and I'm in Seattle).
I waa hoping there would be some good marathon on TV like Twilight Zone or I Love Lucy, but, no,
just football, paid advertisements, and the regular cable news junk.

It's not that I'm bored. I have the Seattle Times and the New York Times, and I can always read a book or clean the bathroom (oh joy). I just feel that while virtually everyone else is wrapped up in football today, I should be doing something special.

I feel like something of an outcast since I'm not a football fan, especially today, especially in Seattle.

I wonder if there are any bars for non-football fans.

1. You should get out and about because the streets will be deserted.
I live in the Pittsburgh area, and it's wonderful during game time because we have easy access to everything.

3. Good point, and you should know.
The stores will probably be empty. Too bad I hate to shop, too!

I'd really like to be around people. That's the challenge, because
today, people equals football.

8. I'm a girl, evirus
Nice try, though.

My husband is off at some bar watching the game.

I'm alone with my cat, but I decided to watch my own marathon.
I bought some X-files tapes from another DUer a couple weeks ago.

I'm just opening a bottle of wine for myself.

No self-pity here!

6. We're relaxing on the computer and then, I'll be making soup.
I found some amazing blues and roots download sites and soon I'll be making root vegetable soup with tomatoes and mushrooms. Mmm. Plenty for you.

9. Thanks for the offer, Metta
Sounds like you are having a nice day.

I have a piece of corned beef with all the accompanying veggies cooking in a crock pot
since 8 this morning. Should be good in a couple of hours.

Going to pour myself a glass of wine now.

cheers

7. Gee, there must be some ant-football parties somewhere.
Ooh, today would be a good day to go to butterfly house at the Center, or Volunteer Park conservatory. Warm & lovely.

There's Fellini at the Pink Door (wine tasting for $20!) at 7 tonight--I *think* that's tonight, anyway.

The Sunset has 4 O'clock Rock for $5, and if you stay 'til 9, the Suffering Fuckheads will be playing.

That's all I can think of. Have you checked the Stranger & Weekly calendars?

10. Wow, you've done your homework, tofunut
I don't get out enough, that's clear.

I especially like the idea of Fellini at the Pink Door.
I may have to check that out.

Thanks!

12. Sacrilege.
At least get in on the parties even if you don't care about the game. I can't imagine not getting into the electricity a championship game brings to a city. You're missing something good.
