DEVO - pre-teen style

Found this on Clark's blog today:

"There's an authorized preteen Devo cover band, "Devo 2.0." Under the aegis of Walt Disney Records, a 10-year-old girl sings note-for-note recreations of "Whip It," "Uncontrollable Urge," "Freedom of Choice," etc. I don't know if the kid musicians in the video footage are really playing their own instruments; some online sources say the original band actually recorded the intro tracks. Even if the kids are just miming the non-vocal performances, they're doing a remarkable job of capturing the spudboys' complex rhythms, chord changes, and time signatures. The CD's scheduled to be out in mid-March."

I am so for this kind of cover album...

He already hears DEVO and getting a chance hear young voices singing this music he already loves
with it's important lyrics and interesting sounds is only going to encourage him to try to make his own
music someday soon....
