Poll question: Best James Bond that never was?
These are actors who either refused the role or were signed but then released for some reason.

1. Adam West as Bond would have been classic!
I love how he makes a complete ass of himself on Family Guy.

3. Adam West turned it down because he was American,
and felt he wouldn't be right.

Besides, he was Batman at the time. :)

4. Without a doubt; McGoohan.
Creative actor and writer, did "The Prisoner", and Bond is a character who does not like his superiors. McGoohan would have been perfect, IMHO...

Of course, he had already done "Danger Man" ("Secret Agent Man") in the early 1960s and presumably felt typecast, and/or preferred working on his own projects...

7. I like him, too
He was in one of my favorite movies as a kid (The Three Lives of Thomasina) and one of my daughters' favorite movies a couple years ago (Treasure Planet)

Julian Mcmahon was up for it this time around against Daniel Craig but the deal unfortunately could not be closed.

I just thought Julian looked enough like Brosnan to make the transition easier, he is a Golden Globe nominee, and I wanted him to prove he can play the hero as well as the villian.

Oh well he gets to be Sandra Bullock's Husband in Premonition now instead, so I'm sure he's just as happy not getting it.

I know Julian may not be everyone's idea of Bond, but I love this guy, he's my big celebrity crush right now, so please be kind and no knocks about my fantasy man, please.

Otherwise I might  I haven't been feeling very mature this week.

6. I wouldn't knock someone else's celebrity crush
I've somehow recently developed a very strong one on Aunt Zelda (Beth Broderick) on the Sabrina show! Celebrity crushes are sacred.

As strong a leftie as she is, I run the danger of her actually hanging out here, too! Small danger, though. I'm sure she has a real life, unlike me.
