NFC Championship Game Thread
Since I don't see one yet, I thought I'd come out of mourning to get it started.

Panthers and Seahawks in Seattle, kicking off shortly ...

1. "nods"
The network at my friend's college went down so that explains my dissappearance in the final parts of the game.

In any case . . . glad to see you out of mourning

Credit to the Steelers for getting through the 3, 1 and then 2 best AFC teams to make it

Damn... it's loud already there.

Herreeeeee we go.

Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 06:43 PM by vikegirl
when I was a sophomore in college. Born in Minneapolis, so that's why I'm a Viking fan. When I graduated, I followed him here. What else does a college grad do with a useless history degree? :-)

I don't hate all Denver sports, though; I *am* an avid Avalanche fan, however. Do you follow hockey?

I don't follow hockey religiously, but I do try to keep up with the Avs and I like to watch the playoffs :)

I came close to getting a history degree, but wound up with the (oh-so-practical) degree in English instead :)

38. Don't know why the Seahawks even bothered to show up
I saw all the commentators on ESPN all week long talking about how Carolina has the superior superstar, defense, special teams and coach, and it wasn't even going to be much of a contest. I wondered to myself if they hadn't rescheduled the game to the East Coast for some reason.

But after both teams have had a possession, the score is still 0-0. No idea how that happened.

72. jeez, they've been so close the last two years
well, to winning the division anyway, they probably would've struggled in either of those championship games. I went to OU, so I don't know if I can quite cheer for them to win the Big 12, but I always pull for them to win the Big 12 north, and if they play anyone other than OU in the championship game, I'll allow it ;)

89. oh, i get it now :) I used to live in Atkins
Well, halfway between Atkins and Shellsburg, both of which are just outside of Cedar Rapids (lived there too).

I *loved* Iowa. I was mostly there in the summers, and I loved waking up and stepping outside with the morning fog/mist wrapping up those iowa hills up tight like ancient mysteries.

I've never really been to Ames, but I've heard it's a good college town, and now that it's one of the closer Big 12 locations to me, I hope to get there for an OU/ISU game, whether football or basketball :)
