Poll question: Is Star Trek dead?
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 09:13 PM by Skip Intro
I don't want it to be. I want a new series - soemthing that will overwhelm me, rather than underwhelm me ("Enterpirse" - good God).

Will there be new Trek, or is it over?

If you say there will be more, what form do you think it will take?

2. After DS9 I think the fans and writers were suffering from burnout.

3. Just waiting to get rid of Berman and Braga.
It could be revamped w/ the right leadership and would be an excellent show.
But what do I know-I'm just one of those stupid Trekkies(Trekker is waaaaaay to serious, IMO).

4. Yeah,Enterprise really sucks.
I watched the entire first season expecting something interesting to happen but I was very disappointed after each episode. After half the second season I pulled the plug and never watched it again.I miss the great stories and characters of Next Generation.

5. Oh yeah. But did it kill the franchise?
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 09:40 PM by Skip Intro
Or were things already sputtering?

Next Generation's movies were, well, a couple of them, really bad. The last one was the worst. Nemesis. Terrible movie.

I want more good Trek, dammit!

I wouldn't bitch if I didn't care, you know.

:D

7. First Contact was really the only good TNG movie
After DS9 ended, Trek held nothing for me. I hope a new one catches my interest someday, because the universe Roddenberry created is fascinating and so full of great stories yet to be told.

6. I cannot comprehend how Enterprise can be so incredibly bad.
I love Star Trek and in Quantum Leap Scott Bakula seemed like quite a good actor. :wtf:

8. What was that movie where they saved the whale?
It was a fun show to watch now and then in the 60s, and by bored, channel-changing accident during reruns in the 70s.

13. I don't think Star Trek is dead...
but I also don't think they should make any more series. The genre started going downhill with Voyager and really hit the skids with Enterprise. Star Trek will go on for a long time in syndication, but they need to stop trying to cash in on a classic.

14. I think a Voyager movie is sometihng to think about
I didn't like the series very much at all when it originally aired, but in repeats it really wasn't all that bad. I think a good movie potential exists. Whether there's anyone with the vision and ability to pull it off is another question.

I'm a STTNG fan but I really liked DS9 though. Didn't really get
into Voyager (although some loved it I guess, the capts voice drove
me crazy). After the Enterprise debacle I think they need a 4-6 year
break then if they come back with something quality it will all be
gravy again.
BTW.... KHAAAAN!!!!!!!!
