"High School Musical" on Disney
I have now seen this movie (or parts of it) every night the past three nights, since its premiere Friday night. My daughter and I had been planning to watch it for weeks - Disney Channel pushed it hard for quite a while.

Anyone else out there with kids see it this weekend?

I hate to admit it, but the darn thing is kind of cute.

1. We watched it on Friday and Saturday.
I was able to get out of it tonight since she has a 7:30 bedtime on school nights. She's been dancing around and singing along w/ it for the past two days.

3. LOL - we missed a big chunk of the sing-a-long version last night
But are watching the final minutes of it tonight before mine gets tucked in.

Am I nuts for really enjoying such a totally G-rated production? I can't help it - I'm thrilled that it is still possible to make a movie that really and truly is "clean" and fun for the whole family!

:hi:

24. You're not nuts.
I worry about the same things w/ movies and tv.
BTW-We're going to see Nanny McPhee on Fri(free passes). I'll let you know if it's a good one or not!

4. I can't get the songs out of MY head!
"We're SOARING, FLYING....."

I'm sure high school will be JUST like this when my daughter gets there, right?

Oh well, we can dream, right?

6. Hey now!
You of all people know that the one person in the whole world who makes me truly good is my daughter.

She inspires me to be the kind of person who NEVER throws bricks at other people's heads, for example.

How is she, by the way? :)

8. Oh, come on!
I haven't thrown a brick at you in a long, long time!

She is excellent. Other than the fact she informed me that she had started smoking yesterday. Out of the blue. Do you think they make the patch for six-year-olds?

:P

10. I doubt it, but you can't really blame her, you know?
All that six-year-old peer pressure can stretch one's nerves, as I'm sure you remember. ;)

I remember, but damn...the things they pressure each other about these days sure have changed from when I was her age, you know?

12. That's what my youngest was talking about!!!!
I asked my six year old (almost seven) yesterday what she and her mom had done Friday, and she told me she watched "High School Musical." Since I had never heard of it, I assumed she got the name wrong. But I guess not. That'll teach me. She's way smarter than me, anyway.

15. Check the listings
Watch it with her next time she's with you and it is on Disney. It's worth a look.

Doesn't even make you cry!

16. LOL
I don't have cable here. I'd have to watch it at her house. Meaning, her mother's house! That would make me cry.

I'm more broke than the federal government these days. I don't even have a phone. I have a payasyougo cell phone I use when I have to. But I'm happy!

20. My daughter loved it!
She's almost six, and she now wants to be in high school musicals. She'd be perfect. She's a ham, and she can dance and emote with the best of 'em. Plus she's gorgeous, if I do say so myself.

25. My daughter (15...16 in a month) watched it with the little girl she
was babysitting Friday night and she said it was really good. I'll have to check it out. They hyped it like they hyped "The Cat From Outer Space" 10 years ago when my daughter was small. :hi:

26. who else thinks
Michael Jackson HAD to have written "Getcha Head in the Game" (or someone very closely copying his style!) I've googled it but it always says "unknown artist".
