What would you rather be doing right now? |
|
I'm at work, but that's no way to spend a day.
If I could do anything right now instead of what I am doing, it would be to be in a clean, quiet, comfortable room with nothing on the walls, a record player, records, a desk, some books, my knitting project, some coffee & cigs, and a pad & pen. Then I'd just make things and read and nerd out all day long and I bet I'd get more accomplished that's worth getting accomplished than I do here at work. Why can't I get paid to do that? Doesn't seem so out of line to me. Oh well. Being independently wealthy must be something for the next life, I guess.
What about you? Are you content where you are today, or would you rather be doing something else?

1. On the couch with the gel hot pack on my shoulder, reading. |
|
But nobody's going to do this work for me, so I suppose I ought to get back to it.

3. That sounds like a nice place to be. |
|
Maybe you'll get done with your work earlier than you thought and you can have some couch time.
Good luck, good work, and I hope you get to feel a little better soon.

I'll be able to work better after, yes?

16. Sure. Couch time heals all. (Or at least most). |
|
Either way, it can't hurt.

2. almost anything would be better than this |
|
I'm at work, too...and I agree, this is no way to live!
If I had my way, I would have slept in this morning and listened to the rain, then maybe gotten up about now for coffee...then some guitar strummin', and later, whiskey. Oh well, I expect I'll get to most of that later in the day anyway, after I escape from the cubicle maze once again....

I'm sorry you have to be in one today. Here's to that magical hour when you get to escape it.

7. I'm anxiously awaiting my City League basketball game tonight. |
|
I had the stomach flu last week, and although we won, I was pissed that I didn't get to play. We've been playing really well as of late, and my shots have been falling, and we play the number one team in our league. They haven't lost a game yet. I wish that I was playing right now instead of sitting here doing relatively little.

9. I'm kind of in a "why can't it be August?" mode right now... |
|
Not so much because of the weather, but because by August, I will have moved, quit this job and started law school. I'm kind of in a holding pattern right now, and while it's not angst-filled, waiting-for-the-shoe-to-drop holding, it's annoying nonetheless. I'd rather be there right now.

18. I know what you mean. |

I'm trying to get some things together that, should they work out, would come to fruition around then too. Plodding through these next few months is already starting to wear thin.
Clearly, we need time machines.

Get on it already, Scientists!
Sorry you have to go back to getting your learn on. It'll be over before you know it though and you'll be able to regale your loves with your newest smarts in between tasty beverages next time you see them.

14. I'd like to be in Vegas today but .... |
|
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 12:06 PM by azmouse
the laundry must be done and the bathroom must be cleaned and the yard must be raked. But I'm not complaining. Life could be a lot worse. And I'll be in Vegas next month... my mom retired there and I visit at least once a year. Wasn't that nice of her to pick such a great spot to retire?! Yea, mom!!

24. Sitting somewhere temperate, under a tree, near a street with heavy |

foot traffic, chain smoking and people-watching. That sounds good to me.
Well, I can do the sitting part for real, anyway.
