Did you ever know an actual YOUNG person who listened to Muzak? |
|
When I was growing up, my friend, whose dad was a Repub mucky muck in the Ford administration, had an older brother who was in his early 20's... I remember when the brother would give us a ride in his car, he'd actually have the station tuned to the local elevator music station.
Of course this guy wound up being a Party tool himself, is or was some kind of Repub state senator.
I remember thinking at the time, and still, who would voluntarily listen to this crap, much less someone YOUNG?

6. I actually don't mind hearing it in the stores |
|
I worked as a grocery store cashier last summer and sometimes the most interesting part of the day would be trying to identify what song was playing on the Muzak system overhead. I take pride in my knowledge of seventies/eighties shmaltz/soft rock and was rarely stumped. But yeah, listening to it by choice when you could be listening to the *real* versions of the songs does seem a little odd.

8. John Lennon's "Imagine" seems like a popular one to 'Muzakize'. |
