I was thinking New BRUNSWICK. You gotta speak slow with me. I'm Minnesotan. Fargo was a documentary, after all.

7. January is 8.7 degrees warmer than average here |
|
It wouldn't be so alarming if the trend wasn't for warmer winters and really stuffy summers. I also see insects and the dandelions out whenever it gets warm in winter. Just has an odd feel.

17. this happened in SD even in my childhood |
|
in the 1970s. I know that SD is no Fargo when it comes to cold, but my hometown did break its own record for consecutive days where the temperature did not get above 32 and the new record was about 80. That also happened in my childhood.
I can remember rains that froze on our ponderosa pine making ice sheathes around the long needles. Of course, I do not remember what month that was so it could have been March or November.
Wisconsin is not known for its balminess either, but I remember a Feb 1, 1987 when it was so warm that I too my bicycle for an eight mile ride to the nearest hamlet and back. A week later though, it was 20 below for about a week. A week I remember well since I was out of firewood for all practical purposes and that was my only source of heat. :scared:
I also remember a classmate who got married in Lincoln, Ne in 1988 and the wind chill that day was -60. I said at the reception that it would probably be +60 in a week or so, and a week later the temp did get up to 58, but that was Lincoln for ya.
