Good Tuesday Morning, Everyone!
:donut::hi:
Welcome to the Early Morning Crew! I hope you had a great night and are ready to get this day started with me! I slept well, but I didn't want to get out of bed. I was so comfortable.

Today is another day off work for me, so I have a couple of errands to run and then, I'm heading to the theater again to see Brokeback for a second time! I can't wait!

1. Good morning and good night!
I wish you could can and distribute your early morning exuberance. It would go well with coffee.

Off to bed.

Have a wonderful day.

:donut: :hi:

Good to see you! We're home, safe and sound. I have to spend the day cleaning the house ... my brother is a good pet sitter, but a horrible housekeeper. Just a few more days till it goes on the market. Lots of excitement around here.
:bounce:

Glad you have a day off! I hope you enjoy the Brokeback again. :)

6. Morning, Miss Airmens!
:hi::hug:
It's good to see you too, my dear! I'm glad you made it safe and sound back home too, even though it was to a messy house. x( I'm excited for you too, what with your house going on the market and the new land...I'm sure you're fairly bursting from it all! I know I would be!

I'm happy you're here with me this morning!:bounce:

:bounce:

The kitties are all happy to have us home, too. I slept well last night, so I got up early and waited for you. I'm not exactly excited to get my day started, but I will be glad at the end of it to have all my work done.

harleydad is working on getting everything lined up for the new land and house (surveys, builder, etc.) and I get to take care of this one, get a rental, and hire the movers. Only ... I can't do much until the house sells. We saw a house in the paper the other day that looked good. I could call and say, "Hello, we're moving to TN and need to rent a house. But we don't have a clue when we're coming up. Can you hold it until then? Oh, and we don't know how many months we'll need it, either." Then, to the movers: "Well, yeah, we'll be moving within 90 days if we get lucky and the house sells. Can we schedule the move now?" What do you think?

My ISP is slow this morning, so it may be tomorrow before this actually posts. x( Oh, speaking of ISP -- we'll be going back to Adelphia cable in TN. How funny is that! I fired them for bad service. They'll probably groan when they see our names on an account again.

22. LOL! Too funny!
At the same time...sounds like a daunting task to get everything lined up in its proper sequence. I've never heard of Adelphia Cable. I'm sorry you have to go back to them. I wish cable companies had competition in the cities. I'm convinced that Comcast would change for the better if they were competing for business with another provider...Mediacom for example.

29. Last time, we had a relo company.
They lined up all the ducks for us. Yes, it's daunting, but it's easier to see it as a lot of little tasks to check off. Looking at the whole thing can be discouraging.

It's a BIG deal that we found land. We thought it would be the easy part, but we drove around for 3 days with the realtor and looked at land we couldn't believe they wanted money for! In TN, "sloping" means almost vertical ... impossible to walk up the hill, much less build a house on it. We quickly learned to look for "rolling". Oh, and one "flat" place was about 50 feet straight down from the road. The owners wanted to be there at one place we looked at (BAD mistake on their part). They were making a big deal about the wonderful view and I kept looking for that "wonderful" view. There was the side of a hill in one direction if you looked up. But down by the road were a lot full of junk cars and a couple rusty, broken down trailers. Finally, harleydad said, "I've seen all I need to" and we went to the next one. Moving is so much fun.

The kids have a different cable company and they don't like them, either. Adelphia is all that's available to us here and we're stuck with them for TV b/c that's what our homeowner's association provides with our ridiculously high dues. I thought Comcast was buying them, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. Yes, some competition would be good.

I'm getting lazier by the minute ... feel more like a nap than getting dressed and cleaning house.

32. I know THAT feeling...
I REALLY need to clean up around this place too, but I look at it and think; "Ugh!" I never thought finding land would be an easy part of the process...you have to have just the right location, size, etc. But, at least you found it and now the process can begin, huh?

4. Good morning Clint.
:hi:

Don't blame you for not wanting to get out of bed at 5 this morning - it was difficult enough for me at about quarter past eight.

Arthur Sullivan (he was the composer half of G.&S. but this is his "serious" stuff) is playing at the moment - it's ultra-trashy and twee, but also jolly good fun.

Technically he's not Mr. Sullivan - but rather Sir Arthur Sullivan. But he certainly does make the day pass much better - of course, seeing you here boosted me enormously as well (especially thinking of you as a cowboy :D ).

20. Sounds like great fun.
It's a whole culture which doesn't exist over here - except for a small minority who do line-dancing.

Why did you leave it all behind?

We've got onto a wonderful piece now - I want it sung at my funeral (by the graveside, not the Mass in Church) "Brother thou art gone before us".

23. Why did I leave it?
I don't know...when my instructor discovered I could DJ the competitions, he put me to doing that instead of dancing, I got a little tired of country music...They kept pressuring me to be a bull rider at the rodeo and I had absolutely NO interest in THAT...

52. Yes...it's not difficult...
there are different ways to control a horse with the reins, so you would just need some practice, and you'd be fine! They are wonderful animals, horses! I was on a stallion once who hadn't been ridden in a while and wasn't particularly keen on having a saddle put on his back and he kept trying to move out of the way. Once I got him all saddled up and got on him, he wanted to run. He didn't buck or anything, but he was hard to control for while. It was exciting.

However, I did discover my local theater is finally showing Brokeback Mountain, so my roomie and I will be going to see it tomorrow night. :woohoo:

17. The washing machine, it appears, is a bit of a lemon
This makes the third (or is it the fourth) time I've had to have it fixed. Fortunately I have the extended warranty plan so it's covered, albeit not exactly for free. Nonetheless, the cost of the extended warranty was less than all of the service visits and parts would have added up to.

I'll be sure to let you know what I think of the movie.

18. You know...I always get those service warrantys too.
They've saved my ass on MORE than one occasion! Is it the same thing going bad each time? If so, see if there is a "Lemon" clause in your warranty...you may be entitled to a new machine.

Once Mutley sees the movie, we're going to start a "What's your favorite Brokeback Mountain" scene...it's going to be a LOT of fun! :bounce:

71. or the recent situation
is the nightmare one wants to wake up from and can't

THE DREAM SONG
(Written by Joan Baez and Ron Davies)

I had a dream I was following a barefoot girl
Beside a stream that flowed around the world
And we spoke of many things though her mouth never moved
As the most peculiar scenes were disappearing into view

Oh what a dream beyond the realm of why
Pretty little beings beneath the yawning sky
Speaking of God as though they could define
Music to the deaf and color to the blind or God to man

And then the leaves became a thousand tears
And I was on my knees in a crazy house of mirrors
I couldn't find my face but a voice was drawing nearer
Hush baby, sweet baby, hush don't you cry

And I thought I woke and my mother was standing there
And my heart broke as the ribbons in her hair
Turned into highways surrounded and swirled
Like a crown come down around a not so perfect world

In the corner of the dream was the man with the blue guitar
It had no strings but the music touched the stars
And his long dark curls turned to gold before my eyes
And the barefoot girl smiled off to the side and it was real

Then a thousand birds took flight with a joyful noise
And I heard the angels up on high rejoice
I could see my face and I recognized the voice
Hush baby, sweet baby, hush baby hush

It's just a dream, one of those that goes on and on
Scene after scene with the rhythm of a gypsy song
When I really woke I was frozen in between
I didn't know who I was, it was a dream inside a dream

It's all a dream
Oh what a dream
I had a dream

73. I love this song
but then I enjoy the music by Joan Baez anyway a lot

One of my favorites as well by her

Ballad of Sacco and Vanzetti, Pt. 2 Lyrics
(Lyrics by Joan Baez, Music by Ennio Morricone)

Father, yes, I am a prisoner
Fear not to relay my crime
The crime is loving the forsaken
Only silence is shame

And now I'll tell you what's against us
An art that's lived for centuries
Go through the years and you will find
What's blackened all of history
Against us is the law
With its immensity of strength and power
Against us is the law!
Police know how to make a man
A guilty or an innocent
Against us is the power of police!
The shameless lies that men have told
Will ever more be paid in gold
Against us is the power of the gold!
Against us is racial hatred
And the simple fact that we are poor

My father dear, I am a prisoner
Don't be ashamed to tell my crime
The crime of love and brotherhood
And only silence is shame

With me I have my love, my innocence,
The workers, and the poor
For all of this I'm safe and strong
And hope is mine
Rebellion, revolution don't need dollars
They need this instead
Imagination, suffering, light and love
And care for every human being
You never steal, you never kill
You are a part of hope and life
The revolution goes from man to man
And heart to heart
And I sense when I look at the stars
That we are children of life
Death is small

You're throwing out half the house, huh? I get on those kicks sometimes too, but Greekspeak likes to keep everything, so I have to be careful what I get rid of! I hope you have a great day too, my dear!

45. Good morning Clint!
I woke up in a good mood too. Lots of things to accomplish today at work, and I'm definitely ready for it.
Glad to hear that you've got the day off. I still haven't seen Brokeback, but plan to as soon as it comes to my area. And you get to see it twice!
It's exceedingly windy here today, wind advisories until 9 p.m. My poor little car will be blowing all over the road.

49. Morning, Miss Fugue!
I'm glad you're all chipper and ready to get the day started! Once you get to see the movie, check in with me or Miss Mutley...we're going to start a "What's your favorite Brokeback Mountain scene" thread! Be careful driving today with all that wind, you hear?
