"Book of Daniel" fans check this out
You can google "Book of Daniel" and hit news and see that there is open speculation (mostly RW sites) that it is about to be cancelled.

First off I think it is a great show. My wife compares it to "Six Feet Under" only ready for primetime. I don't know about that but I do know that it is very well written and very smartly shot and acted. Great cast of vets and newbies.

On Friday night as I watched I noticed something that had struck me during the two-hour debut two weeks earlier. Almost no advertisements. There was a local furniture store SALE! ad, a car ad, and strangely an ad for a local Republican running for a state house seat (their third trip to the polls since November-long story). Other than that it was NBC promos (Earl and The Office two minutes behind the scenes) and Olympics videos. NO ADS. This was very troubling.

Maybe Friday night at 10PM wasn't the time for this to be aired. A younger crowd would be more receptive of this type of show.

Anyway I just wanted to keep you updated.

1. I noticed that,too
Seemed strange that noone would advertise during it. I kept thinking the pot dealing daughter was a carbon of claire from six feet under, but not as talented. All in all, I've seen worse on tv,but they did seem to be trying too hard.

2. I noticed that Daniel's wife didn't drink on the last show
and Daniel didn't even get around to taking a pill until the very end.

I thought those parts of the story were really unneccesary.

I think it is pretty good. I mean that in terms of TV in general not in terms of TODAY's "TV" which generally sucks.

Trying to cover everyday topics all in the context of one family is as old as ...well TV. "Little House" "The Waltons" "Family" all did albeit at a excruciatingly boring pace but they did do it.

I think the characters are very well done and I have to say that I Aidan Quinn is very likeable as an actor.

7. Six feed Under wasn't cancelled - ended naturally. Now, Carnivale -
that's another story.
Love Six feet Under - all of it - ending included.

4. Here's a bit of BOD trivia:Quinn tried Vicodan to get in role for his part

Painkillers Upset Quinn

Legends Of The Fall star Aidan Quinn has sworn off powerful painkiller Vicodin after taking the drug to prepare for his latest role as a pill-popping priest. The actor, who plays spaced-out Father Daniel Webster in new US drama The Book Of Daniel, was keen to try the painkillers his character is hooked on - but hated the side effects. Quinn says, "I took one extra strength because I wanted to see what it was like. (It was) on a day off when I had no family obligations. For the first 45 minutes, I was watching some atrocity on television and the phone was ringing and the stereo was on and everything seemed cool. After 45 minutes into it I didn't like it at all. I had strange dreams. I didn't like it. It was not for me."

9. Hugh Laurie did the same thing for House.
According to an interview with him on the Season 1 DVDs.

6. Uh, sorry, no. More Will&Grace than Six Feet Under
I watched it because of the controversy and...the writing first of all..,acting too, but the writing.
Are you saying that "more ready for prime time" means stilted obvious dialogue? Cuz it's bad.
