After I read your toothache post the other day, Call Me Wesley and I (I can't speak for the Wiley and Excellent Roast-Beef-Eatin' Cat Named Ginger) started sendin' ya good vibes.

Glad you've found relief. I'd rather have diphtheria than another root canal. The oral surgeon who did my root canal said to me (no exaggeration): "If I'd known you were going to be so nervous, I would have prescribed you valium a week ago. Don't be such a baby.")

5. Oh, yeah. Ibuprofen is a _life saver_.

When I was living in the ultra-conservative Vail,Colo., and didn't know anyone, I developed an absess in a tooth that had been improperly filled. I had never experienced childbirth or any real physical pain, but that evening of _profound_ pain gave me a true appreciation for ibuprofen.

I'm glad you're feelin' better. (However, The Wiley and Excellent Cat Named Ginger says, "If he'd eat more dry cat food, he wouldn't have these problems.")

10. You might want to try Oil of Oregano.

I used it when I had my wisdom teeth removed and for the root canal, worked very well.

I don't know why it works but it did, in just a few hours the pain stopped.

Any good health food store would have it.

9. You have my sympathies!

I had one last month and am scheduled for a root canal on a molar next week :(. The dentist gave me a prescription for ibuprofen but I didn't bother to fill it. Why pay a 20 buck copay when you can get the same dose with 4 OTC generic advil?

Just uncomfortable having to keeping opening the mouth so much. They numbed everything pretty good.

The pain leading up to the root canal - i dont recommend! :cry:

14. Did your Dentist show you the package of needles, I think 10 of them

that was going to be used.

My Dentist was great, explained everything before she did it, I relaxed after that.
