1. Picard
He didn't feel the need to
a)have all the answers
b)be present on every away-team mission
c)bloviate
and
d)sleep with every female guest star.

And, bald is sexy as hell! :loveya:

Kirk's birthdate is March 22 sometime around 2228 or maybe 2232... or so Trekkies say.

31. As a fan favorite, Janeway isn't on the top of the list.
As a fictional character, all other starship captains pale in comparison to her and what she's accomplished.
Seven years without support, and she managed to bring most of her crew home. And defeated the Borg at every encounter.
Not to mention the number of First Contacts situations that she and her crew had. Which is probably why they immediately
bumped her to Admiral first thing when she came home.

My personal favorite is Picard, though. Consummate diplomat, but knew when to raise shields and go in guns blazing.
And he had Famke Jansen fall in love with him.

51. I acutally liked all the captians that Star Trek presented...
...with one exception: Captain Archer. I don't know if it was Scott Bakula,
or the writing, but Archer never made any kind of impression on me whatsoever.
I saw a good chunk of the first season of Enterprise, and watched a decent number of
episodes in the remaining four seasons, but Archer was just...there.

54. I thought the same of Picard and the DS9 guy - only that one had his
moments - while Picard...same as Archer to me.
In fact the entire TNG crew was pretty boring to me - all smug and self satisfied.
DS 9 had Odo, and Voyager Janeway.
other than that, they pretty much sucked.

53. The problem with Janeway....
..is her mission should have ended 7 years sooner.

She should not have been such a sap and left her crew rotting in the Delta quadrant for 7 years. Even Picard is that silly.

I know, I know.. she had to blow up the Array....

Here's a riddle though.

Why didn't she beam a dozen torpedos on board the array and set them to go off a few minutes after how long it would take them to go home (and possibly a proximity sensor in case someone tried to disarm them); that's it.

45. I remember the actor - at a convention, trying hard to get some attention
It was the summer of ST 5 being released and there was a big ST convention in LA. poor what's his name posted himself in the middle of the hall - practically obstructing traffic - but everyone was busy crowding Nichelle Nichols who was signing autographs at a table...It was hillarious! People were brashimg past him and he was trying hard to maintain a frozen smile.
I remember him saying then he's love to have Shatner's career - I don't know what came out of that one though.

Picard - about as exciting as my banker.
I think the actors projected their personalities in it. Shatner was a riot - on the set and at conventions.

(he had just played that part and thought will typecast him in those). Soon after he died in a household actident.
Which was our luck as Shatner was called and rather than jesus, brought some fun and humor to the part.

In many ways Picard was the "better" captain from a rules and regulations and peace in the galaxy kind of guy....

but Kirk knew what the right thing to do was and was level headed enough to not be a total loon.

Of all captains though....

I choose The Sisko. Best ST captain ever.

55. Kirk and Spock were great at parties.
They'd be surrounded by crowds of women, and then they'd get that "look" in their eyes and go off somewhere to be alone together, leaving me and my ex girlfriend with all the women.

My ex was almost always lucky when that happened.

So I'd end up alone staring out some portal, and then Piccard would come by and we'd talk about computers or English Literature or something.

Picard was a better guy to work for than Kirk, by a longshot , he wouldn't sneak up and smack you in the ass like Kirk would, and someone, I won't say who, told me Picard was a pretty good lover too... well so long as he didn't start joking around about his "turbo-boost."

65. If I was paranoid...
...I'd suspect my wife got me in trade from my ex girlfriend for some rare Star Trek memorobilia.

ex: "Hey you, Vulcan Lady!"

wife: "Me?"

ex: "Yeah you. I'll trade you a virgin computer geek for that box of stuff you got there."

wife: "This stuff? It's mostly crap fiction."

ex: (leans forward to look into box...) Ooops! (carefully rearranges breasts back into bizarre alien costume corset. Abruptly stands, chest forward. Bounce. bounce.)

wife: "Are you hitting on me?"

ex: "Um... okay, yes! Vulcans are so hot."

wife: "You're pretty hot yourself, but I much prefer guys."

ex: "Well then, I may have just the guy for you if you let me look through your box."

That's not really how it happened, but it could have.

I think it all started when I was a kid. I imprinted on Uhura because she knew how to fix a radio. Ever since then I've been hopelessly attracted by women who love Star Trek.

75. I was always a Picard fan.
My best friend threatened to kill me for preferring him over Kirk.
