So there's this social/professional event going on tomorrow evening. Last year, this event was held in Oakland, this year in San Francisco. Since lots of us in the office are chatting about it, who we'll see, who'll win the various awards, etc, there's a lot of chatter in the halls. No big deal, except for this one coworker who keeps telling everybody who wanders within earshot about how glad she is that it's in SF this year and not Oakland because she just would never ever go into Oakland at night.

A) It was at the freaking Masonic Hall by the lake, not by the BART tracks, you idiot!

B) One is more likely to be verbally assaulted by the "big bad homeless people" in SF than in Oakland.

C) Why does she think anyone cares about her white-woman paranoia!

3. It would be a shame for the rest of the team if she did

Because she does have some nice work in the running, and the projects are all team-based. I almost am hoping she gets scared by someone on the street, though. Then again, she'd probably be scared of a pigeon.

That *would* be fun. I mean, it's not like bookmakers are a crazed bunch - maybe someone will get tipsy and knock over a tray of canapes. That's as wild as it gets :-)
