1040 form from the IRS question. |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-25-06 02:22 PM by Reciprocity
I haven't received my 1040 form from the IRS has anyone else received theirs? Normally it comes before I receive my employers. However this year I have all my forms from my employment, and hide nor hair from the IRS.

2. do you have mail delays? |
|
where was your mail sorted?
in southeast louisiana, we still have substantial delays in some of the mail because of destruction of the main post office in new orleans and other post offices, our mail seems to get sent every which way, including texas (sometimes) before it's properly sorted and delivered, i am still getting some mail from october and november
september mail i think is lost forever
i assume you may have experienced some delays because of destruction from rita in east texas or southwest louisiana?
i have now received my package from the IRS, if you want to go ahead and file early, call yr library and see if they have extra returns and instructions you can use
failing all, you can download any missing forms you need at irs.gov

IRS doesn't send you a W-2, unless you work for them, of course. |

Let me clarify if I can. I don't know what you call it I guess it is the 1040 but mine is called Telefile. On the form you have customer service numbers that change each year that allows me to file over the telephone.

7. The IRS isn't doing telefile anymore |
|
http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=141294,00.htmlYour best bet is probably to switch to efile. I've done mine free through taxact for the past three years and it's the easiest thing ever. I get my refund really fast too.

14. This link may help you find a free file service that serves TX |
|
http://www.irs.gov/app/freeFile/jsp/wizard.jsp?Most of them will offer to do your state taxes for a fee (which is how they make thier money on freefile I assume.) I don't know how it works in Texas, but I decline that because California has free state efile throught he Franchise Tax Board's website.

15. Texas has no state tax so that is probably the reason. |

I suspect if you usually get it, it should be in the mail soon.
