Will Brokeback Mtn. Turn Me Gay? |

Just kidding - I've really wanted to see it. Maybe tonight's the night. Is it all that or is it overhyped?

...My father, whose a Pipefitter, Fantasy NASCAR playing, certified hick went to see it with my mom and said it was "really good". Although he did mention that some of the scenes made him squirm a bit.

but I still want to see it. As open-minded as I am, I have no problem w/ the idea of two guys together. But the visual always creeps me out as I'm sure man w/ woman creeps some of you out. I'm trying to get better though.

I have no problem with 2 men doing what they please, but i do have a problem looking at it. I doubt i could take it, even 2 men kissing really bothers me. Nothing against gays mind you. It's just my personal experiences with homosexuality do not lend to positive views. But like you i am working hard on trying to fix that perception problem i have.
I do plan on trying to see it though. With all the great reviews i'd hate to miss a good flick. If i can just keep from having a traumatic flashback i'll be alright.

so don't worry about it. Yeah, I'm a straight manly man and don't like seeing that shit either. but Brokeback is not as raunchy as Michael Savage would have you believe. Either that or I've been de-sensitized.

Will brokeback mountain turn me gay? make me love the cowboy way and see every plumber's crack as something I'd like to attack...
Now I know that I aint gay as I told my football team each day as we showered and played snapping towels at each other's wangs...
and my frat brothers told me so that I aint no homo as they beat my naked ass with a wooden cricket bat while other brothers watched and next said spill your seed...
will brokeback mountain turn me gay? make me love the cowboy way and see every plumber's crack as something I'd like to attack...
Now every morning I play golf leave my wife and I sneak off cause manly men like hitting tiny balls and smoking big cigars without no women who would just get in the way...
and after we have played a round, I lay my naked body down and get a full massage from Bruce, or Buck or Rod and if there's a happy ending, it sure wasn't planned that way...
will brokeback mountain turn me gay? make me love the cowboy way and see every plumber's crack as something I'd like to attack...
But looking back at all I sang, I guess the only thing I'd change Is I would wear a cowboy hat with my team, at golf, or frat...
will brokeback mountain turn me gay? make me love the cowboy way and see every plumber's crack as something I'd like to attack...

41. No, just the fact that it exists is enough to turn you gay |
|
Because all those bigots who are against it could easily just shut up and NOT see it. But they like to create controversy and publicity just to drive more people to see it. I try to see as many controversial movies and books as I can. I feel it makes me a better Christian if I look at things outside the Church's official view and think about it.
I saw it, but it didn't turn me gay. You know, I've been hanging around tall people in hopes of becoming taller. Maybe it takes time. No, actually I saw Passion of the Christ and it turned me into Jesus. :sarcasm:

My daughter's boyfriend's father somehow came across that moniker for the movie and would not give it up! His wife after 20 yrs of marriage who had just divorced him for another woman was furious. (Mollie went anyway with the mother and her girlfriend) The mother wrote a long letter to her son (my daughter's boyfriend) about tolerance and respect. I guess at least it's at least opening lines of communication :yoiks:
Ironically the mother and father do have a great relationship all things considered... They both live on the same property in Newton, (Boston, Mass) just in different homes. Also, they spent the holidays togethor; each with their love interests. Mollie was there and said there appeared to be no underlying tension. Not that she was gossiping... she was just relaying the nice time she had and it came up.
Long story short; heterosexual guys (even seemingly the most understanding) I think sometimes feel the need to "show" their heterosexuality. Especially if they feel threatend. I'm Not saying it's right but I think that movie threatens some men.
