I've been there. In church, yet. People saying I said or did something that I didn't do. I know how much that hurts.

The best I can offer is to advise you to hold your head high, and keep on being yourself. Your true friends will stick by you, or will demand some kind of proof for those allegations. And anyone who turns against you, based on rumors, really isn't a friend worthy of having.

And it's rampant throughout schools. Boys do it but girls do it much more often. Here's why - If you're angry with a boy and you want to "hit 'em where it hurts" then you use some form of physical aggression or name-calling (to hurt his masculinity). If you're angry with a girl and you want to really hurt her, then by hurting her relationships with others, you are most successful.

It sucks. We've all been through it and it does get better (even if it doesn't feel that way right now).
