He had been in and out of the hospital for surgeries to get rid of his condition.
He was considered contagious. If the surgery he was going to have wasn't successful,
his leg was going to have to be amputated.
As it was, they were going to have to go bone deep to get rid of the "road rash".

whether it happens on dirt or pavement or concrete. :hi:
