1. No no no no, you have it all wrong |
|
If you're FAT you're STUPID, and if you're STUPID, then you're LAZY, and if you're LAZY, then you're ON WELFARE, and if you're ON WELFARE, then you are SELF-ABSORBED, and if you're SELF-ABSORBED, then you're UGLY.

2. if you're referring to the WalMart thread |
|
saying "fat and ugly" is not the same as saying, "if you are fat, you are ugly"
you can be fat and beautiful you can be thin and ugly
but the claim was fat AND ugly.
i don't know what was said inside the thread and if that's what you're refering to, i'm sorry to butt in.

4. It wasn't the OP of that thread I referring to |
|
It was a bunch of posts "in thread".
Funny how people equate fat with people being stupid, ugly etc...
Kinda sad if you ask me...

it is sad. Generalizations, in general, suck.
that said,
people that make generalizations are stupid. :P
who isn't guilty of that sometimes?

10. So are you saying that |
|
The Generalization of an overweight person carries some sort truth to be stupid and or ugly?

Generalizations are generally true. That's why they are generalizations.

11. Studies show that this perception changes with your Social Class |

As you move up the income scale, the men get fatter and the women get thinner.
I remember when People Magazine declared John Goodman to be the Sexiest Man Alive (a banner day for this hefty guy, by the way)
I cannot imagine Esquire slapping Camryn Manheim, who isn't all THAT beefy, on their cover as the most pokable babe in the USA.
In short, I believe that our lovely society thinks if you're female and fat, you're probably low income trash, and hence, Ugly.
Of course, remember when "they" were saying that Katherine Zeta-Jones was fat?
