Just sayin' and sometimes I have shopped at Wal*Mart. I don't make a habit of it, but I am not driving across town just to pick up a few things. Wal*Mart is right by my house, but I prefer to shop at Target for all of the obvious reasons.

1. I have to say, i find the people at Target to be better dressed,
acting more professionally, and better at using language appropriately and otherwise more agreeable to be around than the wal*mart crowd.

I find Target to be far less stressful and more enjoyable than Wal*mart, that's for sure. And price wise, truly, I don't there's a spit of any real difference - maybe in the realm of mere pennies.

3. I love Target and shop there way too much. I
definitely prefer it over Wal-Mart and many other stores, but I have shopped at Wal-Mart before.

12. clearly you have never been to the Target at Wheaton Plaza in Maryland
I don't think there even is a Wal-Mart within a reasonable distance, though, so maybe the Target just gets all their potential customers in the area.

6. One time I was at a Target in Nashville when...
....my wife and I found ourselves in the shampoo aisle with a mother-and-daughter couple.

This was the conversation they had, verbatim:

Daughter: "Momma, look! Shampoo!"

Mother: (inspecting bottle) "How does people know how it works?"

Not kidding.

I won't say you would be unattractive. You may be a very attractive person. However, I would find you more attractive in a Target than in a Wal-Mart. :)

21. I understand that! Really I do, but some people shop there
b/c that is all they have near them. I, for one, have driven a good ways not to have to go to Wal-Mart, but sometimes it is just too easy for me to run in there and grab what I need. I also had to shop there once during Christmas b/c my brother wanted the Garth Brooks CD collection and Wal-MArt was the only store that carried it!

haha jk
I give a pass to people in small towns where Wal-Mart is the only place in town to buy some things. That's great that you avoid shopping at Wal-Mart most of the time. They've proposed 5 supercenters in my town, two of which were rejected. Its like an invasion and I don't want to see them destroy my community. Not shopping there is the best way to stop them.

46. I'm with you Shell Beau
I live in a smaller North Dakota town. The nearest Target is 100 miles east of here. Wal*Mart is here, and has been for many years. It has made it rough for local, community establishments and if I can find what I'm looking for elsewhere, I usually buy it there. However, sometimes that isn't possible.

24. The way I understand it, Target contributes to the community
Wal-Mart bleeds the community. The Target by me has lots of young and helpful employees. The Wal-Mart has many fewer employees and they seem to hide or have an understanding English problem. I do admit I sometimes shop there when they have a sale on spark plugs or oil, since Target doesn't sell much automotive stuff, but the Target clothes seem to be so much better quality even though much comes out of China just like Wal-Mart. And yes, at least for a few minutes, I seem much happier walking around Target. Knowing what Wal-Mart does to the community and the employees, I seem to want to bathe and rinse my mouth out when I leave.

Target always has something worthwhile to buy, and when it comes to dog food, everybody seems to be have same price except the Wal-Mart dog food is no name/big bag/my dog won't eat it/kinda stuff. And it smells really bad too.

They have cute shoes and clothes, and their home department has some neat stuff. They out-class Wal-Mart across the boards.

43. I love Target
or Tar-zhay, as my mom used to call it before any opened here in PA. It's clean, orderly, they actually open up a checkout stand if there's a line, and they seem very consumer and employee friendly. Plus they have Izzac Mizrahi stuff.

But you are right, SHell, sometimes you have to go to the store that is closer. Which is why if I am in a hurry I head to the K-mart that is 3 minutes from my house.

47. I shop at Target.
I can not be dissuaded from this.

I have been shopping at Target since my mother brought me there as a baby (Target was born in Minnesota in the 60s, just like I was).

I still think of Target the way I did when it was owned by the Dayton family. I still desperately miss the Dayton's department stores.

I know that Target isn't a Dayton company anymore, but my longstanding loyalty to the store can't be altered. I think it's in my DNA.
