So I'm walking down 23rd st today and I saw some funny shit

Well I'm hurrying along as the wind is lashing me and up ahead I see a young (20s) squatter/panhandler kid sitting on the sidewalk as people pass to and fro. I feel the usual mix of emotions seeing this - the end result is I feel down, though in a confusing way. He's scruffy, in a raggedy army jacket looking street-worn and forlorn.

So as I pass by I read his little rumpled cardboard sign and it says "Parents killed by ninjas! Need money for Kung-Fu lessons!"

As I saw it a woman gave him some change.

I cracked up and called 3 people to tell them about it. I wish I had my camera.
