What was your favorite toy as a child?
My all-time favorite was Spirograph, though I also enjoyed Lite-Brite and Etch-A-Sketch... but I never became an artist. I also spent hours with Tinkertoys, building amusement park rides, and built many a cabin with Lincoln Logs. But Spirograph was the greatest child's toy ever, it seems to me.

1. Lego's
I had a million of them and they would keep me busy for hours. My mom on the other hand hated the little pieces that got "forgotten" to put away and she would always end up stepping on them with bare feet

My mom saved it for me. It's about 40lbs or so, and all the instruction books are in the box, too!

33. I still have legos
I buy them for my son, but I have my own stash. :) When they came out with their electric trains I had to have one, and so I do.

3. My old drum set and Lite Bright.
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 01:44 AM by DanCa
Actually it was a box of Quaker oatmeal and a wooden spoon but hey I wasn't the sharpest pencil at the time. I also loved the Lite Bright. You take a piece of black paper, place it over a white hot screen and shove plastic colored pegs into it and make a picture It's really amazing that I never started a house fire with it.

17. Girder and Panel!
I forgot all about that. I had one of those sets. It was pretty great, and I wanted to be an architect then.

I think Lego kept my atention longer, because it was better made and far more versitile.

38. i had a set of those!
they were hand-me-downs, and the "oven" was lost somewhere along the way so we melted crayons and canning wax and made wax (easily breakable) creepy crawlers. thanks to ebay, i have the oven now and some of the molds proudly displayed on my shelf of junk.

complete sets go for a lot of money these days.

41. This should be popular...my .22 rifle.
Seriously. I used to spend hours each day behind my house target shooting with my friends (I got it when I was 9), and mowed laws & raked leaves to make enough money to buy bullets. That may sound odd to many of you, but it was perfectly normal when I was a kid :)

Other than that, probably my Atari 2600 and the little 10 inch black and white television I played it on! I tried explaining that to my kids once, and they thought I was full of it when I told them that I used to play video games in black and white. So I pulled it out of the closet, flipped the B/W switch, and SHOWED them. Funny thing was, they played Asteroids and BarnStormer for HOURS that day...in black and white :D
