Answer me this:
You're an FBI Agent watching events unfold.
So, a 100% credible Air Marshall is left aboard the airliner with a 100% loony terrorist.
After a prolonged cat-and-mouse chase through the plane, the plane explodes, and 100% loony terrorist emerges from the wreckage with her missing daughter, and with 100% credible Air Marshall nowhere to be seen.
What's your immediate response? Is it:
a) Obviously we were wrong about the presence of her daughter, so we must also be wrong about her being a 100% loony terrorist. I mean, no 100% loony terrorist is diobolical enough to hide her own child somewhere on the plane in order to establish a reason to control the movements of passengers and crew, right? No, she's telling the truth about having a daughter, so she's vindicated. You know what, let's not have a sniper take her out as soon as he gets a clean shot. Let's rush toward her and offer her friendly, Canadian-style free medical assistance. Maybe she'll even convince us one of the flight attendents was the accomplice.
b) She's blown up the plane, killed the Air Marshall, and stolen $50 million dollars with ther aid of an accomplice we can't find. Yeah, so she has a daughter after all. So what? Shoot her.
HELLO?! Hey Hollywood hack screenwriters.... by all logic and evidence presented in the plot, and in the eyes of all the characters, the woman is unquestioningly a terrorist. A 100% loony one, at that. And if her consistent behaviour wasn't enough to convince us, she (apparently) blew up the plane and killed the Air Marshall.
You suck. You owe me another two hours, and I WILL get them back, somehow.
