This thread explains the situation with my teenager over a scheduled class trip and the money we paid for it.

I spoke with the teacher and she said we will be refunded the difference between the Atlanta trip and Gatlinburg. She was very kind and understanding when I explained we did not intend to pay for a Gatlinburg trip.

What happened was the number of students who said they were going dropped considerably and many didn't have the trip paid for. They booked it through a travel agent and the less people who go, the costlier it gets per student.

I must admit I was looking forward to scaring the hell out of her and am a trifle disappointed. :)
