Any suggestions for a Sunday in Manhatten? |
|
I'll be staying down around Bryant Park area. Was thinking of going to the Met, but don't know if something else might be more interesting. Checked the NYC tourism website, but it's overwhelming.
Oddly enough, I'm in New York pretty often for off-off Broadway theater and for business, but rarely do anything but see theater and eat out.
Any suggestions from Northeast DUers familiar with lower Manhatten?

The MOMA has some great stuff, and if you haven't been since the renovation, its a real treat. I was just there and had a wonderful time. The Whitney is always wonderful too. OR you could go to the DIA center for the arts in west chelsea on west 22nd st. There are some amazing galleries on the street plus a wonderful tea house called the Wild Lilly Tea Room with great food and drink....
I could make some more suggestions if I knew what else you like :hi:

3. Actually, I just found one thing on the calendar of NYC tourism |
|
The NY Historical Society has a Hudson River School exhibit, and trite and sentimental as that school is, it's an obsession.
DIA looks really interesting too - the galleries and Tea Room is exactly what I was looking fro.
The Chinatown suggestion (below) sounds interesting as well.

I never get bored there... The Egyptian collection is especially outstanding.
But since it's Chinese New Year, I'll probably suggest Chinatown anyway.

5. Cool! May check that out. |

I should have figured - our own little Chinatown has been on the news every night, so I assume the Big One will have lots going on.
Thank you!
