3 weeks of exercising and I've barely improved. |
|
Well, I had to lighten up this week because I stubbed my toes when running up the stairwell. x( But still did 65% of the usual cardio exercises.
But my sweating problem is not improving.
Resting and active pulse rates have slightly improved; the resting rate moreso.
But I feel slightly giddy or lightheaded all the time.
Might call the doc as a bunch of people told me not to start up a plan without the doc's input; but my doc has been less than helpful in the past and likes to attribute EVERYTHING to my teensy little axiety problem. (you'd think being ~15 pounds overweight would be put into consideration anyway... I recall months ago when I was 45 pounds overweight and had been since 2002. :wow: )

1. The closer you get to your ideal/goal weight the harder it is. |
|
That and your probably building muscle. I know back when I started was lifting I gained weight for a bit, then lost, then when I had to stop lifting I gained again.. SUCKS. That is killer on the ego, getting in better shape then loosing it to a fucking injury, not laziness but something out of your control.
The important thing though is that good cardio. I have a knee at 29 which sometimes creaks going upstairs etc, I just know I'm looking at a problem up ahead with it someday.
I'm trying right now to loose 8lbs and its absolutely kicking my ass. The cravings for my favorites(chocolate) make me feel like a junky. I had made it almost a week and caved and made cookies last night.. DAMN.

3. Give it three more weeks. It can take awhile to see results. |
|
It DOES get harder to lose, the closer you get to your goal. Be patient! Talking to your doctor may be advisable, but for JEEBUS' SAKE, if you don't think he's responsive to your concerns, find a new one! You're doing great, Toad, keep it up! :toast:

4. You would have deteriorated a lot in three weeks of -no- exercising |
|
Instead you've improved a little. Try looking at it that way. :)

5. I don't want to scare you but exercising is a lifelong commitment. |
|
I've been a regular exerciser for about 2 yrs. I love the way I feel when I'm done, I have more energy. So even if I never lost a pound or an inch I'd still hit the gym at least 3 times a week. Don't give up. And don't worry too much about the sweat. I sweat a lot too. Just keep a towel with you.

6. If your resting/active pulse rates have slightly improved |
|
then you've more than "barely" improved in just three weeks of exercise, trust me. You have to keep at it. I suffer from chronic headaches and neck pain too, so I know how hard it is to go work out when you really want to curl up under a blanket. Keep up the good work. :)

7. As far as the sweating goes, don't sweat it. |
|
Also, have you considered changing up your routine? Try a different kind of cardio. Try adding in some weights. Try yoga. Yoga is FANTASTIC for your overall health.

9. i work out all the time -- 2 hrs a day, 6 days a week |
|
you can get giddy from working out -- this will past -- UNLESS you know you have an underlying condition -- don't worry too much.
muscle weighs more than fat -- as you change some of the fat to muscle -- you won't change the scale.
if losing weight is your goal -- being aerobic is very important. BUT the better shape you're in the harder you have to work to burn those calories -- the body adapts.
working with weights is very important -- but if definition and muscle are not your over all goal -- then you don't have to do that much -- but you should still get in a hour of it in a week.
keep it up! it really will make you feel better.
